COMMUNITY PUBLIC SAFETY

OUR MISSION

At STPCV, our public safety officers, patrols, fixed posts, and high-tech hub command center located on the Oval are in operation 24/7. Our team is supported by property-wide security cameras, emergency panic call stations and a public area video intercom system that enables residents to immediately connect with the Public Safety Command Center. Communication with the NYPD’s 13th Precinct happens in real time, affording a safe and organized response to situations. Community patrols occur on foot, on bike, Segways and the DPS’ SUVs can always be found patrolling the perimeter of the property. These men and women take great pride in serving the residents of PCVST.

HERE TO SERVE

PUBLIC SAFETY

Don't hesitate to call us at 212-598-5233 for: • Any suspicious activity • Propped open exterior building doors • Theft - packages & other • Minor injury (major injury: dial 911) • After hours water leaks • After hours noise (disruptive gatherings such as parties) For Emergencies: Dial 911 After Hours: 11pm – 7am

Good Reminders for Your Safety

  • In case of emergency, call 911.

  • Locate the emergency panic call stations (the cylindrical columns around the communities with the blue lights on top). Cameras are inside and are immediately activated when the button is pressed.

  • Remember that every residential building entry and elevator cab has a video intercom that connects with Public Safety.

  • Never hold an entry or exit door for someone you do not know. Simply say, “I’m sorry, I am not supposed to let anyone in that I don’t know”.

  • If an entry / exit door is propped open, do not hesitate to close it. Even movers are not allowed to prop open doors, and movers are to be identified with an “M” PCVST card to be worn around their necks. Don’t see the lanyard around a mover’s neck? Please call Public Safety.

  • Entering the community after hours?

    • Call Public Safety at 212-598-5233 and we will “follow you home” using the cameras.

    • The PCV entrance at 22ndStreet and 1stAvenue is a fixed post; that officer can call in an escort to get you home.

  • If you are an at-risk resident (age, health, physical restrictions), please make sure you are on our Emergency Accommodations list so we can check on you in the event of an emergency.

  • Put the Public Safety phone number into your Contacts (212) 598-5233 but remember to call 911 in cases of emergency.
